Korea-Japan Youth Forum
To celebrate the upcoming "Year for Korean-Japanese Exchange," the Japanese Embassy in Korea is organizing a youth forum in Fukuoka, western Japan, in February 2002. The forum, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and educational exchange, is supported by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Korean Broadcasting System, and The Korea Herald-Naeway Economic Daily. Forum organizers are holding an essay contest to select three participants, who will represent Korea at the conference. The contest is open to residents in Korea between 18 and 22 years old as of April 1, 2001. No age limit will apply to students enrolled in university undergraduate programs or two-year junior college programs. All residents of Korea can participate, regardless of nationality.
Applicants should write in Korean about the Korea-Japan relationship in the 21st century, and suggest policies to help bring the two countries closer. Applications must be postmarked no later than January 15, 2002, and submitted to the Executive Committee of the Korea-Japan Youth Forum in Seoul via mail.
